2012-2013 PTSA board election at this year’s final PTSA general meeting on May 9
JLMS PTSA Executive Board Positions in 2012-13. The following people have been nominated:
President: nominee Todd Standish
Conducts PTSA board and general membership meetings. Keeps parents informed about district and community issues; works closely with principal, asst. principal, staff, SSC, ELAC, parent liaison, and community. Responsible for PTSA finances, PTSA events, and PTSA outreach.
Secretary: nominee Lee Fisher, 7th grade parent
Take and keep records of minutes at PTSA board and general meetings. Post minutes of general meetings. Send correspondence, maintain the bylaws and standing rules.
Financial Secretary: nominee Gina Ciciarelli, 8th grade parent
Treasurer: nominee Max Shroder, 7th grade parent
Prepares PTSA budget. Responsible for keeping track of money received and paid out by PTSA. Prepares and files CA PTA forms (insurance, dues, taxes, and annual financial report). Presents financial reports at board and general meetings. Requires accounting experience.
VP Programs: OPEN
Oversees food and volunteers for PTSA meetings and events. Works closely with all team leads.
VP Membership: nominee Dolly Escobar, 8th grade parent
Coordinates new family welcome letters and member forms and PTSA promotion/membership forms at all meetings and events. Maintains membership records.
VP Fundraising: Anne Moses, 7th grade parent (continuing)
Oversees the fundraising committees and events. Ensures proper record keeping of finances and work closely with treasurer.
VP Communications: OPEN
Coordinates outreach to community through newsletter, school tours, parent handbook, auto dialer messages, website, and translation teams. Works closely with programs chair and volunteer coordinator.
Volunteer Coordinator: OPEN
Recruits and coordinates volunteers for all fundraising and community events. Works closely with programs, fundraising, and communications teams.
Auditor: (nominee, to be appointed by President): Jorge Barrientos
Audits books and financial records semiannually (December and July). Presents written reports to the board and general membership.
