Bulldog Fund Launched

With the new school year in full swing, I want to take a moment of your time to acknowledge our wonderful staff, dedicated administrators and our community of hardworking parents. Together, we make James Lick the wonderful school that it is. Every day we're changing lives through the gift of education.

There is a widening gap, however, between programs offered to our students and the state education funding received at James Lick. This year the gap between our needs and our funding is $62,000. The James Lick Bulldog Fund, our direct giving campaign, is critical to bridging this gap.

All of our students benefit from a successful fund drive on a daily basis. In addition to our robust arts programs, the James Lick PTSA directly supports staff priorities by funding:

· Counseling programs
· Grade level field trips
· The sports banquet
· A variety of activities for the students
· Supplies for the classroom, and much more

This year, we need to raise $107 per student to offer this programming and this support. We aim for 100% family participation in the Bulldog Fund. Please consider making a one-time tax deductible contribution today, or contribute $10 a month for the remainder of this school year. Please click the “Donate” button on the home page to make your meaningful gift to the Bulldog Fund for the 2010-11 school year. And don’t forget to benefit James Lick through your corporate giving campaigns—the PTSA is a non-profit and qualifies for these programs.

“The secret to Lick's improvements over the last five years is our very dedicated staff and the incredible support of our students' families. The money you give today is another opportunity to be involved in making our school a great place for each child.” Bita Nazarian, principal

Please know that every donation, no matter what size, does make a difference and helps us continue to offer the programs, strong community, and activities that your student and family experience at JLMS. Thank you for all you do to keep James Lick a wonderful and enriching place for all.

Sincerely,

Chester Hartsough
PTSA Fundraising Chair
