We beat undefeated Hoover in the semi final 4-1 to triumph over last years city champs Horace Mann a 4-0 victory.

It took 40 years but James Lick Middle School defeated Horace Mann 5-0 for
the San Francisco Middle School Soccer Championship today. The Bulldogs
have made it to the playoffs several times but didn't take the championship.

The head coach, Mr. O, had a son play in the playoffs at Lick a years ago
but never won it. Now as the coach he has taken the team to the
championship. The team will graduate some strong players but is still strong
with lots of 6th and 7th graders- boys and girls! The last time they won
City, Jorge Santana was on the team! 

Lick had one of the biggest teams in the league of about 36 kids and everyone played at
some point in the season. They had about 75 kids tryout for the team!
