Welcome | Bienvenidos

James Lick Middle School is nestled in the heart of Noe Valley, a beautiful neighborhood in San Francisco. We are a mid-sized school, serving over 600 students and families. One of our biggest assets is our diverse student population, including about 65% Latino, 15% African-American, and 12% White. Over the past five years, we have made great gains in terms of student achievement which include about a 130 point gain in state-wide test scores. We attribute these gains largely to the involvement of families and the highly collaborative work of a very dedicated staff.

  • James Lick Middle School Dress Code The James Lick Middle School dress code was developed to establish a friendly and professional atmosphere that promotes pride, respect and safety for the students and staff. As a family of professionals, our basic standard for students is to dress as if they were coming to work and take pride in their appearance. School is a place of business. Education is the student’s job. Furthermore, we have observed that these standards minimize visible gang affiliation, are less expensive, require less time to get ready in the morning, and create less division based on students’ family income.  We depend on parental support to uphold our dress standards. The following dress code guidelines will be enforced daily at James Lick Middle ...
